***Our ministry is an outreach for the less privileged especially widows and orphans. This is a vegetable and fish farm that provides food for the soup kitchen in Nigeria.****
This mission has been created to support widows, orphans and women to make a decent living. The mission funds boreholes for construction of catfish ponds. It also helps construct and cultivate fields for vegetable farming. Both initiatives are designed to provide sustainable food and income for families.
The first farm, which consists of a both a vegetable garden and a fish pond, is near completion except for two pieces of equipment: a fish feed machine and a fish processing and packaging machine. The fish feed machine has three components: mixer, pellet and bagging. It costs about $2,000. The fish processor and packaging machine costs about $3,000. The ponds are about 10 feet by 9 feet. Constructing these structures cost approximately $300.
Our goal is to be self-sufficient in most ingredients that are served at the soup kitchen. The vegetable gardens cultivate the basic ingredients that are served at the soup kitchen. This includes vegetables, corn, watermelon, cucumber and snails and enables the raising of goats. The fish farms allow the growing of catfish.
A farm will help sustain a few families. It helps women provide the daily nourishment for their families and eliminate hunger.
The first farm is up and running but urgently needs contributions to help procure the two machines for the fish pond before our next harvest. Additional funds received will be used to build more vegetable gardens and fish ponds. Thank God for contributions from kind hearted people such as you and please tell your friends about our ministry.
